This really was a good bunch of episodes! Each one seemed to add something really significant to canon, which is really rare in a TV show. You would have missed something important if you'd skipped any of these.

Yes, that's true. The writers seem to be ironing that stuff out in a really interesting and logical way. I thought it was a bit weak that the police investigation fizzled -- though maybe that hasn't yet gone away entirely.
