emmagrant01: (Harry/Draco in bed)

I know that not everyone likes to read fics posted as WIPs, but I really like it, actually. I like reading in little chunks, and I love the exhilaration of seeing that a new chapter of something has been posted. So if you are like me, I think you might like this!

[livejournal.com profile] mackenzie1, author of Rome (which is also on my list of WIPs to read), has just started posting a post-war H/D WIP called Poison, and OMG it's fantastic so far! It's a murder mystery, and it's got so much of the stuff I love in H/D fic in it. If you know me, you know the sort of thing I like, and I'm sure it isn't everyone's cuppa, but hey. Whatever. The dialogue in this is sharp, the characterizations are edgy, and the CSI-like banter is fantastic. And oh, how I'm going to love this Draco!!!

Title: Poison
Author: [livejournal.com profile] mackenzie1
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Rating: NC17
Summary: Draco Malfoy appears on Harry Potter’s doorstep on the same day that a bloody murder has been committed, and Harry has to work out if the two events are connected. What follows is a rollercoaster ride through the seedy underbelly of Draco’s London life, where sex and drugs seem to be the norm, and where Harry has to decide how far he’s willing to be pulled into it for the benefit of his investigation. Why is Draco living such a life? And why is Harry willing to put his job on the line in order to figure it out? Post-Hogwarts.

Why am I not surprised you like WiP considering LMH and its sequel, LOL! :) ♥

Thanks for the rec, it sounds good (I love CSI!) and I'm gonna take a look even though I don't normally go for WiP. :D

i hate reading WIPs mostly because i find the ones i really like never get finished or it takes forever for them to get finished. i like to read afic all in one go and have everything all tied up at the end. :)

that way i can go onto the next fic without worrying if ill remember to go back to the unfinished one.

They are alright as long as they don't take forever for the author to update. (Like me...I really am not that prompt about my updating. I wish I could keep a schedule like you Emma, but alas...not so much.)

I loved it! And Rome looks great too -- she swears she's going to update that one regularly. :-)

That journal seems to have been deleted.

Do you know if she decided to post it elsewhere?

She moved the fic to her regular journal. I've changed the link above to the new one. :-)

Yeah. *blushes* I realized that after I commented here. I went looking for it, for something, and stumbled upon it.

Thank you, though.
