I had a great meetup last Saturday with a bunch of HP folks I hadn't met before, and we had a blast! There was lazy_daze (whom I've been wanting to meet for a while and will see again at Lumos, yay!), her roommate baleheadbabe (who was lots of fun and is also going to Lumos), raelinschaos (who was so sweet and funny), son_of_darkness (who was completely adorable), nightwish_fan (who was the first to arrive and told me my accent was cute, hee), ias (whom I'd been hoping to have a chance to meet for a while and with whom I chatted about all sorts of academicky stuff), lizardspots (whom you all know is a fantastic artist but is also an incredibly sweet and lovely person), pitchblackrose (who joined us a little late and wow, is from Iceland!), and dora_the_nymph (very nice and sweet). Ack, I hope I haven't forgotten anyone!

We drank coffee and talked and laughed, and Lizard drew a stunning Harry/Cedric pic (that I am writing a fic for, stay tuned) and generally frightened the people around us. It was so much fun to meet you all! *massive hugs*

Oh, and from scanning their LJs I see they all continued to have lots of fun that day! *grins* I'm a bit jealous -- I would have loved to hang out longer, but alas, we had made plans. FWIW, that night I got to see MDH's very upper class boss get extremely drunk at a restaurant and begin making rude comments to women with boob jobs. 0_o

And Sunday in the Park with George was AWESOME, ias!

I think I shall definitely organise myself (and possibly my best friend who I usually drag along to Sondheim productions and who, handily, lives in London) to get to see it during its run.

It was SO good, easily the best stage production I've ever seen in London -- and I've seen quite a lot of them over the last ten years, so that's saying something. It was a very faithful reproduction of the original, and the cast was simply stunning. There was no one on that stage who didn't completely deserve to be there. The actors playing George and Dot were phenomenal, and they gave those roles a vulnerablity you just don't see in the original version with Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters. The sets were all computer-generated, and the effect was really amazing! I just can't say enough about it, really. It was all I could do not to burst into tears a few times from the sheer beauty of it all.

You just have to go! Keep in mind that it's a small theater with open seating, so you'll want to be there exactly when the doors open to get a good seat. Let me know if you go! I'd love to know what you think. :-)

I'm sorry, but I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. When I note that I'd like to be asked prior to archiving, I mean that if people would like to post one of my fics (like LMH) on their own web page, I would like it if they would ask permission first. Is that what you're interested in doing?

I thought there was a way to save your work so that I could read it again (without worrying about the stories disappearing from the web)...

That is referring to reposting the fic on the web. If you just want to save it to your hard drive or print it out or something, there's no need to ask permission. :-)
