Note: This was my first EVER Snape-centric fic. I know, right? :-D I wanted very much for this to fit neatly into canon, and so I made some assumptions about the order in which certain events happened in Snape's life. Not everyone may agree, but I hope you'll just go with it. ;-) The title is taken from the lyrics of the traditional carol "Good King Wenceslas".
