Hey, where's everybody going?
Jul. 6th, 2007 07:39 amI have seen quite a few posts on my flist from people who aren't going to log on to LJ for the next two weeks (until after they've read DH) so they won't get spoiled. I don't want to get spoiled either, but I'm not going anywhere.
I love fandom, and I would not miss these last two weeks before the last HP book for ANYTHING. The excitement, the last-minute theorizing, the last-minute fics, but most of all, feeling like I'm part of something really special, something that will likely never happen again in my life -- I'm not missing out on all of that. The idea of isolating myself in a spoiler-free bunker doesn't sound the least bit appealing. I'll risk being spoiled, thanks. I'd rather be here, with all of you. :-)
Besides, if you temporarily leave fandom to avoid spoilers, theterrorists spoiler asshats have won, right? ;-)
