Okay, went to a comic book store near my house, finally. I haven't collected comics for a few years, but I was looking for something in particular. I walked in and quickly realized I was the only woman in the store. From the way everyone was looking at me, I got the sense I was the only woman who'd been in the store in a long time. Or maybe it was my gorgeous hair, fresh from the salon? ::grin::
Anyway, found 6 SW comics (including Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan -- squee!), and the (kinda cute) guy behind the register flipped through them all and said, "Are these for you?" I blinked and then said, "Uh, yeah." He said, "You know, like 99% of our customers are men." I said, "That's funny. Most of the Star Wars fans are know are women." I haven't felt that uncomfortable in a comic book store in like -- ever. I'll go back, though. They'll get used to may ultra-feminine (ha!) presence eventually.
Oh, and Q&O is SO great! Funny, well-drawn, well-written...
