Tell me about my writing

emmagrant01I've been wanting to do this for a while, and I've finally screwed up my courage. I've spent the last three years working hard to become a better writer, both professionally and in fandom. My betas have been amazing in that regard; in particular, ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
jedirita has helped me in more ways than I can begin to express.
But the nature of LJ and fandom seems to be that people rarely give authors serious concrit. I'm not looking for concrit about my plots or my characterizations, mind -- I'd like to know what y'all think I do well as a writer and what you think I could improve my writing, in general.
Hence, a poll! :-P I thought about just asking for comments, but I worried that I'd get flamed in anonymous comments, which misses the point of this exercise altogether. I would love it if people who know at least a little about me and who have read something I've written would tell me honestly what they think I can do to improve my writing. As a disclaimer, keep in mind that I have cultivated a very simple and straightforward writing style on purpose -- so if you want to tell me I need to add in pages of elaborate description, let me save you the trouble and say that isn't going to happen! ;-)
But if you have read a few of my fics and would be kind enough to tell me what you think, I would really appreciate it. And I've had a glass of wine, so I'm ready to hear it. :-P

ETA: Just a reminder -- STG is still a WIP and is being posted as a rough draft, and I'm well aware that it's quite flawed. I was hoping for more general comments about my writing than specific bits of concrit about that fic. :-)
