Technical help?

I'd like to customize my LJ layout a bit more, but I can't figure out how to do it. There must be someone out there who can help me! *bats eyelashes*

How do you put a permanent entry at the top of your LJ page so it looks like a banner?

ETA: Okay, what I apparently would like to do is add a banner to the top of my page. How hard is that to do?

That's quite simple, you do that just using the post function. Paste the HTML for the banner in an update box and change the date at the top to something in the distant future... for example... instead of 2005, change it to 2020 and that post will stay at the top all the time... well... until you reach 2020, that is, lol. :)

Just remember to click the "entry is backdated" box for that entry - otherwise you'll have to backdate every entry following it, and they won't appear on anybody's friends page.

I'm not sure you can... However, if you use an icon that matches your banner than it usually looks quite snazzy, lol.

You need to create a custom S2 layer. :D If you like, I can fiddle around with mine and copy/paste the coding over. You'd just have to change the image URL and alter your colors.

Ok if you want to put an entry at the top of your journal so it doesn't move, I think you have to 'backdate' it...to the future. Yeah, I know that looks weird, but I think that will keep it at the top.

Adding a banner...I'm not sure how to do that with your journal layout. Sorry!
