Remember the het ship war?

"so many people asked that. so many. why can't i be nice? because i'm a sarcastic bitch, that's why. i don't sugar coat things, especially not in my own journal. if i was talking about a serious issue i might have made an effort to be nicer, but this was a snarky essay written for shits & giggles. it was an essay written about fictional people. boo fucking hoo."
"the sirius/remus shippers are like, well, shit, i'll write me some fan fiction. and here are harmonians, writing their defiant little letters that j.k. rowling will never, ever see."
"i couldn't believe that after everything that happened in HBP, people actually had the nerve to bitch and whine because their ship sunk. are you fucking with me? you're not going to read the 7th book because harry and hermione won't be playing slap and tickle in the astronomy tower? good! don't waste your fucking money!"

There's something so appealing about well-done snark, you know? ;-)

Date: 2005-07-20 12:09 am (UTC)I'm probably the only one like this, but, who cares about what happens in the books? The Post-Hogwarts fics are where it's at anyway. And Fandom is flexible, anyway. There's a reason why The AU tag exists, after all. And Post-Hogwarts for that matter. Until they kill one of them off ("and even then, I'm sure God negotiates), ships don't die. Writers just have to be more creative.
