A really hot sex scene, which I don't have because I taped it off the frikkin TV. I simply *must* buy the movie. Does the DVD have any cool extras?

There's a director commentary, which I haven't yet listened to, but that's about it. Have you seen the unedited version?

It's still difficult for non-white actors, isn't it? It's better than it used to be, but I think only significantly so for black actors. Asians, hispanics, and American Indians (to name a few) are still not seen much in mainstream Hollywood films, except in incredibly stereotypical roles.

*sigh* Was "Rollerball" the last film he did? Oh, he was adorable in that. The fact that he ended up a bad guy was a surprise, you know?

Er, I take it you mean "unrated?" Dunno. I saw whatever came out on video a few years back. Then it appeared on the Bravo channel, which is where I taped it. Director's commentary would be cool

It's the last one that I know of. I broke down and got it used for $5 and watched it again the other night. It really is a fun movie, albeit a totally bogus plot line. I finally realized that they must have filmed that escape scene in night vision. How's that for funky? And I love the fact that its so international -- and in central Asia, too. I'm fascinated by all the "stans:" Krzygystan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. Check out my userinfo to see what I list as my location!

It's funny. Jedi Rita was just talking about him on her live journal and recommended his move "Kama Sutra".
So-my dear husband decided to indulge me today.

First we went to our local art museum for an exhibit called "Jeweled Arts of India in the Age of the Mughals". I never thought that I would ever see so many rubies, emeralds, and pearls in one place in my life. These (sometimes enormous) gems covered daggers, swords, earrings, necklaces, turban ornaments and more.
Then in the evening he agreed to watch Kama Sutra with me. It was a lovely day.
I'm assuming that you've all already seen the movie, so I have only one thing to say. Death by elephant. Aaaah!

On a more serious note, the exhibit that we saw today consisted of pieces from the Kuwait National Museum. I couldn't help imagining how quickly treasures like these could be looted in a situation like that happening in Iraq today.

"Kama Sutra" is a beautiful film! And yes, death by elephant -- blech!

I spent a week in India a few years ago, but I got food poisoning rather early on, so I didn't get to see very much of the country. Much of the architecture I saw was stunning, but it's hard not to associate those memories with the terrible feeling that I was going to die. I have a photo of myself standing in front of the Taj Mahal, looking really gaunt and gray and smiling weakly. That was one of the worst days of my life, in front of one of the most beautiful buildings on the planet. I was *really* sick! I'll have to go back some day, though. It's starting to sound appealing again, at long last.
