The Presidential Commision's report is released

An editorial by the founder of the news site Capitol Hill Blue discusses the implications of the report commisioned by the Bush adminstration on the failures of the intelligence community leading up to the decision to invade Iraq. They didn't pull any punches, not even for the White House itself.

"Today’s report on the United States' incredible blunder on Saddam Hussein’s non-existent weapons of mass destruction shows a bumbling, confused American intelligence apparatus where rumor is presented as fact, information is accepted without verification and truth is discarded when it does not fit pre-conceived notions.

The long-awaited report by President Bush’s commission on intelligence proves what most outside the administration already knew -- the prime rationalization for invading Iraq two years ago was based on a lie."

*sighs* They [finally] couldn't hide it anymore... The Bush Administration shouldn't be allowed to use the word intelligence.

But really, what else did they expect from a man who goes on about the sancity of life, while signing lives away to the Death Penalty [even though they were found later to be innocent]? [/roomtemp.rant]

Of course it isn't his fault! It's those damn Democrats that had crappy intel and hosed the military machine by having a balanced budget and fiscal accountability. After all, Bush was only in office about a year. He was just trying to filter through all the crap leftover from the Clinton administration. Can't be his fault! No way!

Oh, please! Anything that comes out that man's mouth is a crock of shit. Bush had his own agenda from the start. He was quite intent on invading...er liberating Iraq from the start. He was going in regardless of what any report said; WMDs or no. And while I'm sure there's plenty of blame to go around, pointing fingers at America's intelligence community does nothing but weaken America's confidence in it's leaders, namely Bush.

*blinks* You mean only NOW are folks realizing that Bush made a boo-boo? Oy. I'm not going to bad-talk the man because that's done enough as it is (plus it's too easy), but Iraq would probably have been invaded regardless of what suspicions the administration really had. The capture of Saddam sort of blinded the public and I remember people calling Bush a "smart and bright President who cares about the future of others" *snickersnickersnicker*

thing is but, the bush administration isnt REALLY doing anything worse (ok well it is but not much) than other admins, its just doing it alot more obviously cos george bush is an uneducated hick (i think that was redundant).
