Aeternitas?
Is anyone thinking of going to Aeternitas in New Hampshire next spring? I'm really intrigued by the idea of a small con that fills an entire hotel, heh -- no Muggles! And it's even in a place that has a chance of being cool enough that you could run around in house robes and not risk heat stroke!
But I would only go if a bunch of people I know (read: slashers) are going too. Registration opens in about a week, and it's limited to 475 people. I'll probably go ahead and register anyway, because it's cheap ($90). The rooms are cheap too. Actually, the whole thing looks fairly reasonable, comparatively speaking. (I may even try to organize that Slashers' Common Room...)
I guess this is a sort of informal poll to see who is thinking about registering. Who's in?
Please feel free to pass this on to others who might be interested, even if you aren't!

OTOH, if it's during the school year, I wonder if that would raise the average age of the attendees a bit? I have no idea.
If I go, it will be the first trip leaving my son home (with my husband). He'll be 3 by then, so it'll be a lot more feasible than it's been up until now. Unless DH suddenly has to go to Asia that weekend, in which case I'd have to scramble a bit. :-P
I hope you can make it! It would be awesome to see you!

My muse has come back, which has been awesome. And my little guy is 2.5 now, which means I have a little bit more time on my hands than I have for the last couple of years. ;-)

A bunch of us went to Wrockstock a few years ago, which was primarily about the wrock, but we went in together and got a cabin (it was at this interesting lodge in the woods) and made it the slash cabin. We spent more time hanging around the cabin and talking slash than we did going down to listen to the music, but it was awesome and definitely relaxing.
I guess I'm imagining this could be something similar, but with a lot more slash. :-)

BTW, it was great to meet you at Infinitus. I've friended you, so I can keep in touch.

The timing will be hard for teachers, and people who don't have someone to watch their kids, but Phoenix Rising was around the same time a couple years ago. I couldn't go to that one because I was having surgery. :-P
As for the weather, I've gone skiing several times up in New England in late April and May - once we even went at Killington in June! I don't think there'll be actual snow on the ground over there - in the mountains maybe. It should be pretty nice though. If it doesn't rain. :-P

Yeah, the timing isn't the best, but I usually teach Tuesday and Thursday, so I should only have to figure out what to do for one class day.
Ooh, the idea of being able to wear robes and not suffer...

I would love to go! Thanks to you and Beth for posting about it. It's a great excuse to get up to New England and try and convince lots of old fandom friends I haven't seen in ages to come along. :D

ETA: Just checked it out and looked at the prices - very, very reasonable! And probably worth it to get a suite/HUGE room because for four people that works out to an extra $35 for the weekend vs the cheapest room at quad occupancy. Laconia's only about 2 hours from my part of Boston, which is great.
I definitely want to go to it now. :D :D
ETA2: Also, New England is GORGEOUS in the spring. I have so many beautiful pictures from my mum's visit last year during late April.

I don't fancy going back to Florida for a while for Leaky and DiaCon would probs blow a hole in my bank account (as much as I would love to go!)
So, I want to say at least 70% sure. And I may potentially be dragging my boy with me (he's intrigued by the whole HP convention stuff).
