Dude, I am wiped out lately. I've barely been online for two weeks, and I miss it! Every fall I forget how much work the beginning of school is, but this year I'm extra tired for other reasons on top of that, so I'm finding myself coming home and generally being too tired to do anything but watch TV. I know it will get better in a couple of weeks, but yikes. Fandom could have utterly imploded, and I would have missed it. o_0

Change of topic: On my way home tonight I was at a stoplight beside a movie theater marquis, and I looked up to see OOTP was still playing there. And then the R at the end of "POTTER" disappeared, and then the E -- there was a guy taking it down as I was sitting there watching. The words HARRY POTTER were completely gone by the time the light turned green. What are the odds I would have the chance to see them remove that, you know?

I meant to go see it one more time before it left theaters, but again, tired. The last time I saw it was at Prophecy with hundreds of fans, so that's probably a good place to leave it anyway. There's just a couple of months until the DVD comes out, right?

Oh wow... I was just paging through old stuff here, wondering if you were okay, pissed-off, too tired to care... and this appeared. Glad you are hanging in there. You teach school, right? The beginning of the year must be crazy.

That's sad about the movie, but I guess it can't stay in the theatres forever. Cause then they would push back the DVD release date. :(

I'm guessing a few weeks before Christmas will be the magic day. :)

Hee! Part of the reason I posted was that I was starting to worry that people would think something had happened to me.

The beginning of the school year is always crazy, but this year it feels especially so. I'm not sure why!

I heard something about a mid-November release date for the DVD, but I'm not sure if that was official.

The earlier the better! I don't see it listed anywhere on line, but they are probably planning a fancy release event. *rolls eyes* I'm such a "behind the scenes" type that release parties and such make me cringe.

I do know the full series of QAF comes out mid-November. Not at all sure you care, but I'm happy about it. :)

Glad you are okay, I know the whole fandom mess around here got a lot of people down. Hope the year gets better!

Wow, you never saw OOTP? I think I saw it nine times, heh. When you do see it, I hope you enjoy it! I actually liked it a lot better than the book.

I can't imagine trying to get back into that groove. and judging by the pile of paperwork I had to fill out the other day just for a kindergartener, it must be just as crazy on the other end.

Wow. I can't believe OotP stayed in the theatre that long! Man, I am glad I got to see it half a dozen times and I definitely can't wait for the DVD. :D

Glad to hear you're alright though and definitely after a week or two things will settle down. Hehe. I'm so far down the fandom line it'd be a month before I found out if it imploded. :P

I found myself wondering where you'd got to today. Nice to know things are ok, if a bit busy. I just started the semester at two different schools, two weeks in a row (faculty at one, staff at another) and it has been insane! I'm just glad things are about to settle down now!

It is sad that the movie is gone from the theaters, but I am so excited about the DVD. Especially since we're supposed to get deleted scenes for the first time!!

Deleted scenes, yay! We had them for GOF and COS, though. Or do you mean we'll get to see them for OOTP for the first time?

Heh, no, that was me being a dunce and forgetting that any of the previous DVDs had deleted scenes. Oops. Well, I think this one probably had the most so far, so yeah... we'll just say I meant the second thing you said. Yeah. :)

This is actually the first time I've read my f-list in about three weeks, myself. Am not going back to school (for the first time in about ten years), but have been swamped with work and work travel and general RL busy-ness. I've been pretty much crashing before ten every night, sometimes before nine. So yeah, I feel ya.

I only managed to see OotP in the theater twice. I might check and see if it's in the cheap cinema by now, because I'd like to see it again. When does it come out on DVD, do you know? According to Netflix, the release date is unknown. I hope it's not too long a wait.

I hope things calm down for you soon. And for me, too, because I want to catch up with people. And be around for any fandom implosions or explosions, because that's altogether possible, given what happened with LJ this summer.

I've been in bed by 10:00 every night, which is so unlike me. I used to do all of my writing between 10 and midnight. :-P

Yeah, it was really weird! I was sort of sad, but I also realized that meant the DVD was closer, which made me happy.

I understand completely about the lack of energy... We have exams in one and a half weeks, and I feel like my batteries accidentally ended up in the laundry machine, making me feel all soggy and weak XD (But my jeans are tingly, now ;-P)

I'm really looking forward to the DVD! There's nothing like owning a copy of the movie and being able to watch your favorite scenes over and over. I'm looking forward to being able to watch the scene in the tapestry room frame by frame to catch all the names. :-D

Yeah, the beginning of my son's school year has sucked out my brain and I too haven't been online for about two weeks.

Interesting about the marquee bit - I've never actually witnessed letters being taken down. Imagine the odds of it being HP! I just noticed in today's paper that it's no longer playing...kinda sad.

It was weird because I almost got to the intersection in time to go through on yellow, but decided not to push it for some reason. It was interesting that I got to see the guy taking down that particular movie!

This is my first year teaching, and I work every minute I am awake! Tell me this gets easier someday!

It does get easier as you learn to manage your time, but it's always a busy job. At first you're just trying to survive day to day and you can hardly think about what's happening next week. I remember spending so much of that first year just trying to manage everything, and it was overwhelming. Management becomes second nature after a year or so, and you can finally start to become that teacher you always imagined ourself being. At least, that's what it was like for me in those first few years -- you might be quicker than I was at getting it all under control.

It's a great job, and I can't imagine doing anything else. :-)

love your icon. =-D Just finished season 6 of Buffy last night, and a couple of days ago, I pulled out season one of Angel and watched "Expecting."

I'm reading Deathly Hollows, too! Maybe that's why I'm at a loss as to how Harry Potter or any other recorded art "ends." Whomever was supposed to come and take my HP books away (cause it's "ending, didn't ya hear?) hasn't gotten to our house yet.

I only saw the movie twice--once on IMAX, and once in a small theater. It would be nice to see it again...I had hoped to get my mom and bf to the IMAX! Ah well... Huh. Looks like they're still playing it three times a day at the 20plex closest to home... Spiffy.
