If you listened to the interview with Henry Jenkins on [livejournal.com profile] slashcast, you know he talked about writing Scrooge/Marley slash. Last night he posted excerpts of it on his blog here. :-D

Heh. I had no idea. I suppose it was inevitable.

No idea that he'd written it, or that he would ever post it? ;-)

Yes, and yes. LOL!

Neat! I'm forwarding that one around enthusiastically.

Wow! His comments on slash are so interesting. I very much enjoyed the interview as well :) And what a great story, too! Wish I could see the whole thing.

It is interesting to see it from an "outside" point of view, but one that takes it seriously and doesn't look at it as if it were a freakish thing.

I have describing how amazing this story sounded when he described it and getting blank looks. Thanks for the link! I shall spread it far and wide! XD

It's a really interesting idea!

Nothing to do with that, but have you read this? It's amusing and applies nicely to bad fic. Not sure why I thought of you for this, since I can't see you having this problem, but I did.

LOL! That is funny stuff. It's interesting that it's so muchcmore prevalent in profic than it is in slash -- at least, from my perspective it seem to be.

"Orbs" is certainly used too often in fic. And globes. There are rarely boobs in the fic I read, so I always get terrible images of two perfectly round asscheeks. Doesn't work for me, not at all.
You're right, though. I even knew some of the authors listed, as I used to read far too much of that crap.

[livejournal.com profile] tryfanstone and I agree that there needs to be more Rosemary Sutcliff slash. That's similar IMO. He's not bad at Dickensian style.

Do you know if his blog is syndicated on LJ? I wouldn't want to duplicate feeds.

It's at [livejournal.com profile] henry_jenkins. :-)
