Why do they call it "Hump day"? There's remarkably little humping.

1. Well, I am now officially registered for Prophecy! W00t! Barring a disaster or a miracle, I will be in Toronto next summer. :-D I can't go to Phoenix Rising because of a family commitment, and I'm still hoping that I might be able to make it to Sectus. *crosses fingers*

2. School starting has put a serious damper on my writing. I come home and my brain is too fried to write fic, which sucks, because I'm actually really excited about the fic I'm working on at the moment. I'm going to have to set myself a schedule again, I think. I write best under pressure. I have no idea how some of you are so prolific! I just can't write that fast. Putting out LMH and STG on a schedule nearly killed me.

3. Speaking of STG, I had hoped to have the final version posted by September 1. A couple of my wonderful hard-working betas needed a little more time, though, so it's not ready yet. I'm shooting for October 1 now. I'm definitely ready to have it done and posted!

4. Fandom has seemed a little quiet lately. No wanks, no big news. Not that I'm complaining or anything. It just feels a bit like the calm before a storm, you know? :-P

5. I am really, really excited about something that's coming up on [livejournal.com profile] slashcast in November. I'm all a-squee! Ah, but it shall remain a secret for now. ;-)

6. I'm watching the last three episodes of season 3 of BtVS when I get home tonight, so if you've been following my Buffy Diaries, there will be another post tonight.

*humps*

I'm thinking of attending Prophecy. I can't make up my miiiiiind.

There's a lot to choose from next summer! I can't go to Phoenix Rising because of a family commitment, and while I'd love to go to Sectus, I'm not sure I'll be able to swing it yet. Prophecy is one I should be able to do, though. :-)

Methinks another podcasting panel should take place. : pokes [livejournal.com profile] robertstandring and [livejournal.com profile] chaeche too.

[identity profile] emmagrant01.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, that would be fun! And [livejournal.com profile] chaeche and I have other plans too... ;-)

woohoo!

[identity profile] kagyakusha.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
#1)I look forward to seeing you there!
Prophecy looks like it'll be fun!!

#2) school puts a serious damper on eeeeeverything.

Yay! It'll be fun! I'm hoping I can go to Sectus too. :-D

[identity profile] wildfyre.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Grrrrr, everyone's pimping Prophecy and not Sectus! ;-)

[identity profile] emmagrant01.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Meep! I think it's because Prophecy sent out all those emails this morning reminding us that Friday is the last day to register at the special rate for Lumos attendees. So a bunch of folks jumped on that and registered, and then there was buzz. That's a clever marketing idea, actually.

It's nothing personal against Sectus! I really hope to be able to go to Sectus, actually. I need to see how next summer will shape up for me first.

[identity profile] wildfyre.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe if I bribe you with offers to do lots and lots of stuff for Slashcast you can mention us too? *g*

[identity profile] emmagrant01.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
*edits post*

;-)

[identity profile] singlewoman.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yea, I have just signed up for Prophecy as well. Can't believe I have to wait 11 months. I would love to go to Sectus, but I just don't know if I can, yet. We'll see about finances.

So glad you are working on another fic. I can only imagine the stress that the schedule for posting LMH and StG must have been, but it was a treat for your fans. Every Wednesday there would be this bright spot called Emma.

I am reliving Buffy through you, lots of fun. I have finally gotten the QaF DVDs and am completely hooked, and loving every moment.

*Hugs*

[identity profile] emmagrant01.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay! It will be good to see you again!

Mmm, Buffy. Am off to watch those last few episodes soon... :-D

[identity profile] chocklit-frog.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG *is almost but not quite eighteen by Aug 2* *cries in corner* It kills me beacause I LIVE in Toronto :(

But whee, something extra-special for slashcast? *dances*

[identity profile] emmagrant01.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, poo. That's too bad. :-(

Can't you register with the permission slip thingie? I'm not really sure if that means a parent would have to go with you, though. Cause that would suck. Unless your parents are extraordinarily cool.

[identity profile] chocklit-frog.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I just might be able to wrangle the permission slip, but I'd still need a chaperone over 21, also registered for the con. And sadly the cool just does not extend that far :S

[identity profile] aurieal.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Prophecy! Yay!

*cough*

Would you be freaked out if I asked permission to stalk you and like...get your autograph? Yes, I am that big of a dork, thank you. But you're one of the main authors that really got me into H/D and I'm a huge fangirl. Feel free to reject me, I realize how creepy I sound. :P

[identity profile] emmagrant01.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, sweetie! No need to stalk, LOL. I assure you that I am quite nice and friendly, and more than happy to talk to anyone! So if you see me there, just say, "Hey, Emma!" and we'll chat and stuff. ;-)

[identity profile] daddybear716.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Prophecy!!! Yay!!!! I was so bummed out to not go to Lumos. I missed you guys so much!!! I will be registering myself tonight, many things to get accomplished tonight as the rest of the week is swamped with things to do.

BTW... I'll toss out an option to you for travel. If you can get a better rate for a flight to Buffalo, NY rather than going to Toronto, do it and I will pick you up and bring you to TO. It's a 1 1/2 hour drive, so we can be gossipy fan-girls/boys while we drive up. Either way it'll be a blast!

[identity profile] emmagrant01.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the offer! I'm coming from so far away, though, that flying into Toronto is actually not a bad deal. That, and I might be using some frequent flyer miles anyway. ;-)

I'm glad you'll be there! It'll be good to see you again.

[identity profile] daddybear716.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
We'll have to go out drinking on Church St. Check out Woody's, the window drag show at 501. The gay village isn't far from the hotel, so a bunch of us can go out and terrorize the locals. ::grin::

[identity profile] emmagrant01.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Dude. It's a date. I'm so there!

[identity profile] askani.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
i hope to be registered for prophecy by tomorrow. *crosses fingers* ive only heard from a few people that they are going to be there.

have you found that a lot of people are going to prophecy instead of the others?

[identity profile] emmagrant01.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
I think people are choosing one of the three based on the time of year and the ease of being able to get there. It will be the lucky (and perhaps well-funded) ones who can swing all three. ;-)

[identity profile] cenas-plots.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sad that you're not able to go to Phoenix Rising. :( But I hope you have fun at Prophecy and Sectus if you're able to swing that one. I desperately would loooove to be able to go to Sectus as well, but jobless college student = no love. Heh.

And school puts a damper on everyone I think. It just drains the life out of you. D:

Also, new fic? Yayes. :)

[identity profile] fiona-fawkes.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I couldn't swing an excuse for all three, but I am going to both Sectus and Prophecy. I just lumped them into one giant fandom vacation. It'll be an exhausting three weeks, but it'll be the trip of a lifetime. London and Toronto are both cities that I've been itching to explore for years.

psst. Do you think that satisfied Elanor?

[identity profile] kriken.livejournal.com 2006-09-08 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Why oh why are Prophecy and Sectus so far away?? Oh, and did you register for the feasts or are you joining the group of us planning something else?

::crosses fingers that you get go to Sectus too::

[identity profile] joshytheponce.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
OMG! I live in Toronto... I'm so fucking going to Prophecy! (hope to see ya there :P)

[identity profile] chocklit-frog.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Oy, you had better come! I'll drag you along if I have to!
