You people are twisted, you know that? *grins* What a summer!

What's the big deal with Draco in a skirt? There are a lot of requests along those lines. If it works for you, great, but... I don't think I get it. It's never Harry in a skirt. Just Draco. *scratches head*

[livejournal.com profile] jedirita, I hope someone picks yours! ;-) And I have to admit, I'm thinking about it...

I think it's because fanon Draco is such a priss. We've turned him into this great, effeminate, shirt lifting pansy... he's girly and pale and slim and pretty and he looks good in woman's clothing... Harry in a skirt... well... he'd just look like a bad vegas drag-queen... lol

It's such a fanon thing, isn't it? Of course, his antics in the POA film didn't help much.

*gasp* No, I haven't! Whee!

This doesn't mean I'm withdrawing my request, of course. More Harry/Bill is a good thing. ;-)

For the record, I'm all for Harry in a skirt.
Mystery kid in POA...that made me giggle a bit.

I love your request.

I have this strange need for Harry/Charlie or Harry/Bill fics. There just aren't enough out there.

I hope somebody writes it! More Harry/Bill is definitely a good thing.

hahaha It's all about the Draco in a skirt. I blame Skirting The Issue by [livejournal.com profile] marksykins for the recent obsession, but there were probably a bunch that came before. Boys in skirts are hot, and Draco's a bit femmy(eh fanon, but who cares), so it works nicely.

Ditto and I agree. That's one of my all time fave fics. Plus, that whole challenge at PP got me thinking genderswap/fuck is a really interesting thing, and I joined [livejournal.com profile] andropotterist because of it.

[livejournal.com profile] rosesanguina's fic Subtle Nuances didn't help either ^.~ It's a conspiracy between Marks and Anj to get us liking effeminate bottom!Draco i think, and it's most definitely working on me.

[livejournal.com profile] calixta9 wrote a gorgeous ficlet yesterday as a birthday present featuring female!Harry (spelled genderswap) and he sounded incredibly hot. All shiny black hair and sultry green eyes and pouty mouth. Gues sit's all about preference *shrugs*

I actually never thought of it until I saw some awesome art and stories with him in a skirt. The one time I like Harry in a skirt is when he gets turned into a girl, lol. Yeah, it's just weird...

I'm just trying to figure out why people like to see Draco dressed like a girl. And it's not just a few poeple. It's a lot of people. *scratches head*

Hell, even I'm surprised by all the Draco-in-skirt requests. Heh. Since I rarely take fanon into account when I write him, I think the appeal for me lies in what a stuck up little snob he is in canon, and the idea of humiliating him in any manner is rather appealing. Not that I'm against Harry humiliation, either, though; I've written him in similar situations quite a bit. The appeal there? Well, I imagine he's rather cute when he's all embarrassed. :)

Exactly. You know it's all your fault, Marks.

But not all of that is about humiliation, is it? A lot of the requests (and there were a lot) were basically for crossdressing!Draco fics. Why is it that people are so very interested in seeing Draco dressed as a girl, and not Harry or Ron?

If it really is about humiliation and putting him "in his place", then I find that a bit disturbing. Since when did dressing like a girl become punishment? Isn't that fairly sexist? (Not saying this is what you mean, of course -- just extrapolating.)

From: [identity profile] marksykins.livejournal.com
I think, on average, there are less requests for Ron, period. It seems like there are several Harry-skirt requests (and also a fairy tale pastiche that has Harry as the female character/Draco as the male character in all given scenarios).

And I don't think the act of dressing like a girl is in and of itself punishment, but rather that if the person who's doing the dressing up finds it to be punishment, then it is. When I think of the way Draco is portrayed in canon, I really can't see him being too thrilled about having to wear women's (and, *gasp*, Muggle women's) clothing, so, yes, for him, it would be a punishment. Someone more laid back probably wouldn't have the same reaction; for example, I can easily see the twins laughing it off and really reveling in the whole thing. Also, if we're talking futurefic, I can see Draco being more relaxed, too, depending on his experiences. So, it's not sexist, though it might be Draco-ist (or Harry-ist, Ron-ist, Neville-ist or any other character that would be overwhelmingly angry and/or embarrassed by a similar situation), which is something I don't feel the need to apologize for, since they're fictional and all.

I hope I don't come off as sounding hostile because I'm glad you asked, but I know how meaning can get muddled online. Really, like all my kinks, there's not an easy explanation of why I find crossdressing hot, unless 'I just do!' counts, but I know that humiliation factor does play into it. :)

First he noticed the slender calves covered in black netting, the likes of which Harry had only ever seen in trashy publications Vernon kept in a not-so-secret compartment in the toilet. His brows furrowed at the first disruption of his fancy; bony knees. Reasoning that not all women were perfect like magazines would have us believe, he continued gazing up the taut thighs. Finally reaching the apex; the crimson knickers that covered her... well that seemed out of place...

"POTTER! TEN POINTS FROM GRYFFINDOR! GET OUT!" shrieked Snape.

Harry fled, hoping to acquire bleach on the way to Gryffindor Tower.

Thanks for asking!

I think beyond the psychological reasons that have been sussed out (humiliation, role-reversal and the like) a big factor in why Draco always gets picked for the skirt is his physical resemblance to an attractive girl. Ron is excessively tall, and he's got that vibe where you suspect he must be covered in hair. Draco on the other hand, is almost always even more lithe and thin than Harry, who's really rather scrawny already. It's easy to imagine Harry with stubble one day, but I find it horrendously difficult to imagine Draco with facial hair of any kind.
